Site Visit to PKV Convention Centre and Research Facility

The Indian Concrete Institute, Nagpur Centre organized a site visit to the PKV Convention Centre and Research Facility, a large-scale infrastructure project planned in phases. Upon completion, it will be one of the largest column-free exhibition halls in Central India, featuring an approximate 80 m × 200 m column-free span along with several sustainable design elements.
The project has been structurally designed by Er. Satish Raipure and architecturally designed by Ar. Habeeb Khan.
Project Highlights:
- The project is spread over approximately 21.7 hectares and is being developed in multiple phases.
- Phase 1 includes the display and exhibition areas along with ancillary facilities, with an estimated cost of Rs 235 crore, making it the largest exhibition centre in Central India.
- Phase 2 comprises a Convention Centre with a 2,000-seat auditorium, a PKV Research Centre, and multiple conference facilities.
- The total estimated project cost is approximately Rs 552 crore.
The visit provided valuable exposure to the participants regarding large-span structural systems, modern construction practices, and planning of large convention and exhibition infrastructure projects.
