Hands-on Workshop on Concrete Mix Design

The Department of Civil Engineering, S.V.P.C.E.T., Nagpur and Adani Cement, Nagpur, in association with Indian Concrete Institute, Nagpur Centre, organized a hands-on workshop on Concrete Mix Design on 21st February 2026 for Third Year Civil Engineering students to provide practical knowledge of mix proportioning.
The session followed the guidelines of the Bureau of Indian Standards and procedures from IS 10262. Students learned about water–cement ratio, target mean strength, and selection of aggregates during the mix design process.
As part of the practical session, students prepared an M35 grade concrete mix, which helped them understand the step-by-step procedure of mix design and quality control in construction.
Er. Mohammed Waheed and Er. Kundan Singh from Adani Cement explained the mix design process and practical aspects of concrete production.
The workshop was coordinated by Prof. Yogesh S. Lanjewar and Dr. Satish D. Kene, and it significantly enhanced the practical knowledge and technical skills of the participating students.
